Sif's unique quay side in Rotterdam
The extension of the new quay wall is completed. The old quay wall was extended by 200m, leading to a total length of 600m and a retaining height of 30m.
The depth in combination with the height makes this quay side unique, as it is the deepest and strongest quay side of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Now, up to 3 jack-up vessels can be loaded simultaneously at the quay in our terminal. This quay was developed especially to support the arrival these vessels.
Smart sensors were placed in the quay. These sensors are able to measure the forces the quay will experience during its lifetime, in order to closely monitor and maintain the integrity of the structure. The extension of our quay wall enables us to support our clients even better with our marshalling and logistics activities.
